Zirconium crowns & bridges
Crowns and bridges without a metal substructure
With no metal substructure there is no grey shadow at the gumline, and it carries chewing load at the back.

Zirconia replaces the metal core of a traditional crown with white ceramic. It transmits light more naturally than metal-backed crowns, so it can also be used at the front; for front teeth with very high aesthetic demands, glass ceramics are also considered.
With no metal there is no grey line at the gum margin over time, and it safely carries chewing load at the back.
Who is it for?
- Teeth with substantial loss of structure
- Root-treated teeth that have become brittle
- Patients with a metal allergy
How the treatment works
- 01
Preparation
The tooth is prepared to a measured depth.
- 02
Digital impression
A scan is taken and a temporary fitted.
- 03
Cementation
The final zirconia is cemented and the bite checked.
After your treatment
The crown itself cannot decay, but the tooth beneath it can. Cleaning between the teeth therefore matters even more once crowned.
